This beautiful flag is in exceptionally good condition, having only been flown for a short period of time atop the Tupelo, Mississippi Courthouse. Flown during the Confederate occupation of the town after the battle of Corinth. Taken down by a family and hid away shortly thereafter, it has been handed down through that same family and lovingly protected throughout the years. The only flaw worth noting in this brilliantly colored flag is that one star was removed as a souvenir and has a modern replacement. Measuring seventy and one half inches by one hundred thirty inches and already mounted on white cotton sheeting awaiting hanging or framing. Authenticated by Ms Fonda Thomsen and Textile Preservation Association, America's foremost authority on War Between the States era textiles. |
