This large 18.5" Bowie is 100% original and unaltered and is sheathed in its original russet scabbard.  There are several rarely seen and desirable characteristics inclusive with this set, for example, the slab grips are hollowed out so that the tang is not exposed, top or bottom, the D-Guard has a center ridge running along the outer circumference.

The scabbard is russet, very rare in itself, and only seen in pure Confederate accoutrements.  The scabbard has a leather throat and belt loop attachment.  The knife is very well made, tight and unaltered.  The scabbard is as good as any in the world.  The overall quality would indicate Confederate Arsenal or very large manufactory production.
