     The C S Waist Belt Buckle pictured here is known as the “Rope Border” because of the twisted rope design lining the rolled edges of the plate.

     The plate was manufactured under Confederate Government contract and closely follows C S Regulations.  These attractive die-stamped, sheet brass plates were issued to western theatre troops and are found almost exclusively in western theatre sites. 

     This example is perfect in every regard and comes from the Ben Michel collection.
