This is a very unusual Confederate bayonet adaptation. The base was cut off of the mount, saving only the opening for the sight, and a thumbscrew was installed to lock the bayonet to the barrel. It is approximately 7/8 of an inch inside diameter, but is slightly out of round. The thumbscrew works well. There is scattered light pitting throughout.
There is nothing spectacular here, but just a neat alteration showing the length the Confederate armorers had to go to in order to equip the Southern forces.
Where else can you find a legitimate Confederate bayonet for only $495.00?
